Bali's golf venues offer very different settings: ocean-facing cliffs, mountain scenery and accessible city practice ranges. Whether you want a full round or an introduction to the sport, match the venue to your experience, time and travel route.
This guide covers five options, including both golf courses and driving ranges. Prices and opening hours below are reference figures from the original guide, not live quotations. Confirm tee times, equipment hire, inclusions and current rates directly before travelling.

New Kuta is a links-style course on the limestone cliffs of the Bukit Peninsula, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Designed by Ronald Fream, David Dale and Kevin Ramsey, it combines exposed coastal conditions with varied holes and sea views.
The original guide describes a length of approximately 6,713 yards and five tee options, allowing players to choose an appropriate challenge. Coastal wind is part of the experience, so consider conditions as well as distance when choosing clubs.
Dreamland and Balangan beaches, GWK and Uluwatu are possible stops in the wider area. A practical day starts with morning golf and lunch at the clubhouse, followed by an afternoon outing and, if timing allows, the Kecak performance at Uluwatu.
Book ahead, arrive early and bring sun protection. Avoid planning around a fixed airport transfer time: south-Bali traffic can substantially change the journey.

Bukit Pandawa offers an 18-hole, par-54 course designed by Bob Moore. The par-three format, rock features, terraces and water hazards create a distinctive alternative to a full-length championship course.
A round can be shorter than at a conventional par-72 venue, with the original guide suggesting around two hours. Your actual pace will depend on the booking, group and conditions.
Pandawa Beach, Melasti and GWK are nearby south-Bali itinerary options. Play in the morning, have lunch and continue to a beach. Uluwatu sunset can be a later stop if you allow enough driving time.
This course is especially useful when you want golf to be one part of the day. Its shorter format does not remove the need for accurate shots: choose it for the style of play, rather than expecting a standard par-72 layout.

Handara trades sea breezes for mountain air in the Bedugul area. Set at roughly 1,142 metres above sea level, its course is surrounded by hills and vegetation, with substantially cooler conditions than Bali's southern coast. The original guide describes temperatures around 14–20°C, although weather varies.
The 18-hole course dates to 1974. Handara's own company profile credits Peter Thomson, Michael Wolveridge and Ronald Fream as its designers.
Lake Beratan, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, the botanical garden and local strawberry farms can complement a visit. Leave the south early for morning golf, then choose one or two nearby stops before returning.
Bring a light jacket and allow a generous transfer window. The winding mountain journey is not reliably a short drive from Kuta, especially in traffic or rain. Staying in the area can make the day more relaxed.

Bali International Golf is a driving-range option in Denpasar rather than an 18-hole golf course. It suits practice sessions, beginners and visitors who want to try golf without setting aside most of a day.
The range offers opportunities to practise technique, with coaching and equipment rental options. Confirm these separately if you need a lesson or do not have your own clubs.
Kertalangu, central Denpasar and Sanur can be combined with a visit. Spend the day exploring the city, practise later in the afternoon and continue to dinner. Reserve coaching in advance if improving technique is your main goal.

Udayana is another Denpasar practice option for visitors who prefer a short golf session to a full round. Its open green setting suits working on swing consistency or trying the sport for the first time.
The original guide describes accessible hourly or ball-based packages and rental clubs. Ask directly for the current address, schedule and available equipment before setting out, particularly for groups or children.
An afternoon session can be more comfortable than practising in the midday heat. Follow it with dinner in Denpasar, and book equipment ahead if several people will be sharing the outing.
Do not assume every course listed in older Bali travel guides is operating. Bali National in Nusa Dua has closed, while the former Nirwana course at Tanah Lot has been associated with a long redevelopment. Check directly before planning a visit or relying on any proposed reopening date.
Handara is in the mountains, New Kuta and Bukit Pandawa are in the south, and the practice ranges are in Denpasar. Choose a realistic route rather than combining distant venues in a single day.
Explore luxury car rental in Bali with Bikini Garage for comfortable travel with your group and golf equipment. Options include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Jeep, Alphard, MINI Cooper and Ford Mustang Convertible. Confirm luggage space and pickup times before booking.
